Today’s all about 10 summer shoe essentials currently on rotation in my closet. These shoes are trending this summer, but they’re also classics that you can use throughout the years or until your wear them out. Some are basics, and some are ones you might wear once in a while. Nonetheless, they’re great staples; you can find different variations and price points in each style.
I like to take all my summer shoes out of the closet to see what I’m working with. So often, if you have your shoes in boxes, they get left out and forgotten about unless you have pictures of them on your boxes, which I currently don’t. The great thing about having them all out is that when you’re putting an outfit together, you can try several without having to take them out and put them back in their box. It’s amazing what different styles and different heights of shoes can do to an outfit.
It’s all about color this summer, and what better way to wear a pop of color than on your feet! Colorful heels are a great way to add color without going overboard if you’re not used to it. You can go with any color in a block heel, short, high heel, etc. Wear them with jeans and a neutral top to add a pop of color or go with a monochromatic outfit. Or go with a lighter shade like a pastel if you’re more of a neutral type. I happen to love color, especially neon color. I won’t be wearing these out a lot because of the heel, but when I do wear them, I will feel damn good. And these will be in the closet for years to come.
Now when I talk about a nude/beige sandal, it can be any sandal you love. I opt for these nude wedge sandals, the most comfortable pair of shoes yet. I can be on my feet all day with these, and it’s like I’m walking on a cloud, no lie. Nude sandals work with so many different outfits. It elevates a casual outfit into a more dressed-up, chic outfit. Whether they are low or high heels or wedges, you can’t go wrong with these for any summer outfit.
These are great shoes to have on hand during spring and summer, especially if you live in hot climates. They’re not leather but have a padded sole and are great basics. I got these from Amazon, and I have to say, they’re a great pair of sandals that are easy to wear, comfortable, and so effortless. Add other tan accessories to compliment them.
The thong sandal is another shoe for summer that will never go out of style. You can opt for any thong type of sandal you like and are most comfortable with. I got these from Walmart this year, and I have to say these are one of my favorite pairs of summer sandals. They’re padded and are super comfortable. The thong with the detailed bow is adorable and doesn’t hurt between my toes. I also love the neutral light color, which makes it easy to style with any outfit.
White Trainers/Sneakers are another staple shoe you can keep on rotation all summer long. You can also opt for a white hightop or platform sneaker, adding height. These all work well with dresses, jeans, trousers, mini skirts, etc. They go with any neutral or color style outfit. Great for adding comfort to a great outfit you would normally wear heels or sandals with.
I love wedge sandals. I’ve had these in my closet for several years now and can’t seem to part with them. Not only are they comfortable, but the way they elongate my legs is the best. So if I have an event where I know I’ll be standing most of the time, I opt for wedge sandals. They’re more comfortable than heels and go great with a maxi dress. Heck, they go great with any outfit!
A great summer shoe to always have on hand is a black sandal. There are so many variations of black sandals that you can have a lot of different styles but make sure you love and feel good in the ones you invest in. For me, it’s these low-heel sandals I bought at Target. I love their look, but the low heel adds the comfort I’m looking for. They go great with all your black summer outfits, including belts, handbags, shirts, trousers, dresses, jeans, etc. They’re perfect for day or night.
Slides also come in different variations, but these are one of my favorites this summer. First, I love white. It adds a crisp tone to any outfit. Second, they are super comfortable and practical. You can wear them around the house or take them to the beach. Third, they’re easy to travel with and don’t take too much space. Finally, you can opt for a luxury slide, waterproof slide, or even go with a Birkenstock style of a slide if these aren’t your cup of tea.
Birkenstocks, Dad sandals, Footbed sandals, Chunky sandals, whatever you want to call these, I love them! These have become my new favorite sandal this summer. They’re super comfy and funky, and I got these for under $20, which makes me so happy. I love a great deal. These aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re mine! You either love this style, or your hate it. I have several pairs of Birkenstocks, and I will always love them. They’re practical, comfortable, and surprisingly go with many outfits. You have to be a little open-minded and go for it. You can wear them with shorts, jeans, skirts, rompers, dresses, etc.
Now living in Arizona during the summer months is no joke. It gets up to 118 degrees some days. But as hot as it is, it doesn’t stop those who love their cowboy boots from wearing them. It’s the wild west, and inside all of the natives is a wild one. You can buy genuine leather, ostrich, and snakeskin boots anywhere here. But I opt for something a little smaller and more on the faux side. I found these little cowboy boots a couple of years ago and found that I could wear them during the summer months. They’re a neutral color which will go with everything. They’re short so that I can wear them with pretty much any outfit. And they’re comfortable and won’t make me feel super hot. I know the current cowboy boot trend is knee-high, but I’ll sport the shorter ones in these neck of the woods.
I hope you’re inspired by the 10 summer shoe essentials I’m sporting this season. Use what you got and feel good!
