4th of July, America’s birthday. A time to gather with family, friends, and neighbors. A time to bbq, swim, eat and enjoy the beauty of America.

We usually go swimming or go to the park to watch fireworks once the sunsets. It’s still hot but a bit more bare-able. Gilbert Regional Park has been our go-to since they opened it in 2019. Living close by, we can get to the park by bike or car in several minutes, although it’s tough to cycle during the hot summer months.

The 4th of July is one of the hottest days here in Arizona, with temps rising to 113 degrees. So if you’re celebrating the 4th in Az, let’s hope there’s a pool around or it’s an indoor party because if you’re planning to be outside, it’s guaranteed to be toasty. It hasn’t stopped us from hanging out at the park, even if we are melting. The kids love going to this park because of the splash pad and festivities.

Festivities
During the 4th, they offer music, vendors, games, a splash pad, and an open area to watch the fireworks comfortably. It gets packed, but it’s fun, especially for the kids. If I didn’t have kids, I would be sitting in the car watching the fireworks with a nice little drink in my hand and the AC blowing in my face! ๐ But I have kids, and they always want to go to this park, rain or shine! Last year, we decided to go to the park last minute and were still able to get a spot.
