When it comes to Christmas decorations, I like mixing old and new as well as some DIYs. For example, wreaths for any holiday are great for personalizing. There are a million ways to make a wreath and a million things you can add to them. I call it Caps & Corks Christmas Wreath because that’s precisely what I used caps and corks! Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite holiday DIY: Christmas Wreath.
My boys used to snack on veggie and fruit pouches or, as I like to call them, grabbers. And because both my boys ate them, I had a lot of leftover pouches and caps. When the holidays rolled around, I got crafty and put those caps to use. I did the same thing with different wine corks. I had to outfit it on our front door. A pretty eye-catching Christma Wreath DIY! So if you have these caps and want to make your wreath with them, give it a try.

How to Make a Christmas Wreath Out of Recycled Items

First, take the grabber caps and start gluing them one by one onto the hay wreath. Hold each one down for about 30 seconds, making sure each one is secure. Once all the green caps are on, glue on the white and red caps. Add the corks around the red and white caps. Make them into a flower-like design. I only added caps to the front and sides, leaving the back bare, but you can add them all over.

Next, add some sprigs. I bought these at the dollar tree and broke off what I needed with the shears. You can add sprigs anywhere you would like. Add it all around the center of the wreath or in between the caps. I wanted to keep it simple, so I added some sprigs to the wreath’s bottom center.

Lastly, add the bow. You can use burlap or cloth, really anything you like or have on hand. I bought this bow from the dollar store, and it was a perfect size and the exact color I was looking for. The bow came with two twist ties, so I placed the bow to the center bottom of the wreath, wrapped the two strands toward the back, pulled it taught so it wouldn’t move, then just twisted the ties.

That’s it! A simple and easy Christmas Wreath DIY that will spruce up any space. This wreath has the perfect blend of whimsy and cheer. In addition, it’s a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle your items!
Hopefully, this Christmas Wreath DIY idea will inspire and motivate you to make your wreath with things you already own. You can have your kids join in on this craft as well. You can use any repurposed item; the skies are the limit.
