I always look for different ways to decorate when the holidays roll around. I love Halloween, and decorating is one of my favorite things. Unfortunately, covering your porch lights with different items can sometimes get tricky. Here’s an easy and fun DIY: pumpkin porch light covers that are super quick to make and will have your house stand out! These covers are fun and a great way to decorate, saving you many pennies. We used the kid’s pails they outgrew last year, so we got our money’s worth out of them. I always like to save items like this until the following year in case I can use them as DIYs before I give them away.
Step 1

Buy some pumpkin pails. You can find these anywhere from Target, Walmart, The Dollar Store, Michaels, Joanns, or your local grocery store. I got mine from dollar tree for just a dollar apiece. I picked up two. You can use them anywhere you have a sconce or garage light. You can also pick different colors and styles of faces or go with the traditional jack-o-lantern face and color.

Step 2

Cut the back of the pumpkin. You’ll need some tin snips, shears, or heavy-duty scissors. First, cut down the center from top to bottom. Then cut the bottom off the pumpkin (the bottom circle part). Depending on the light fixture, you may have to tweak it here and there.
Step 3

Open the back end of the pumpkin gently. Wrap the pumpkin around your light, or pull the pumpkin down over the top of the light. We wrapped it around the light, and it fits perfectly. I didn’t have to tie it down with anything. I cut off the handle, but you can keep it on as a way to keep it secure.
That’s it! A pretty simple and fun DIY: pumpkin porch light cover! I added a little ghost that I found at Walmart to add a little more spook to the garage light.
